Mercedes Benz repair: 1989 300 E, fuel pressure gauge, fuel supply system

Question
My 1989 300E has stalled on me a few times in the past, recently it stalled and I was unable to get it started. The electrical side checked out ok.  I have noticed that fuel is slowly dripping under my car and suspect that perhaps my fuel supply system may be to blame for my problems.  The drip seems to be under the area of the back of the passenger seat, but I am guessing that the fuel line is lowest there.  I guess what I’m looking for here is to find out if there are any known issues that could save me time “under the hood” trying to diagnose this problem.  Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Bill

Answer
If I understand you correctly, your vehicle has a fuel leak and that will most certainly explain your stalling problem due to lack of proper fuel pressure. There are not any common causes for fuel leaks on these models, I would recommend following the leak to the source and replace whatever part is the cause of the leak, then make sure to apply a fuel pressure gauge and check for proper fuel pressure.

I would recommend you have a certified MB tech take a look at this problem.
