Mercedes Benz repair: 300dt air lock, fuel system, diesel fuel

Greetings, Replaced the diesel fuel thermostat and severely air locked the car.  Cannot get it to prime.  Tried vaccum on the bleed air port and the fuel return to the filter nothing.  New filters, full of fuel.  Cracked the lines on the injectors nothing.  Suggestions please?

Answer:
Is this a new assembly, or did you replace only the internal thermostat unit.
The seals must be replaced with new ones every time.
The assembly seal mating surfaces must be cleaned to get a perfect seal, anything less allows air to leak into the fuel system, and you will never prime the system.
