Mercedes Benz repair: Car wont start, throttle linkage, shop virginia

Question
1990 420 SEL 151,000 miles, Richmond Virginia.
The car will crank, but won't catch.  Sometimes, it will start right up, but for the last 3 weeks, would crank but not start.  The accelerator does not have any resistance and feels that it is not connected to pump gas to the engine.

Answer
Answer:
Damaged or broken throttle linkage can be sign of more serious issues.

It is possible linkage locked at full throttle = very difficult to start in this position, and could damage your engine if it does start.

I suggest you take it to a local reputable independent MB shop.
