my mercedes c180 mod 1999 doesn't start,and no ignition sound is heard when i try to start it ,is it the computer of the car altough the check lights are working properly ,,,n.b the car had been at the agent since saturday and they didn't know the reason,plz reply on me by mail or forward it to the expert to reply on me about the reason ,thanx

Do you mean the engine does not crank with the starter, or are you saying it cranks but fails to start?
actually the engine does not crank with the starter,its totally dead only the check lights turn on then off(working properly)when the contact is on then when trying to start the engine nothing happens...dead,altough the battery is ok and nothing happened last time driving it,i think may be its the hyrulic gear sensor or the imbolizer ,thanx

#1. Bad neutral safety switch on the side of transmission.
#2. Bad starter solenoid.
#3. Ignition switch failure.
#4. Immobilizer activated by theft attempt or component failure.
I have no technical data upon the C180 or immobilizer system, as it was never imported to the USA.
I do hope you have taken it to your local Mercedes Benz dealer for repair.
