Mercedes Benz repair: 1977 Mercede 450 sel headlight, 450 sel, high beams

Question
I have a 1977 Mercedes 450 sel and the right headlamp burned out......I replaced it and it doesn't work but when the high beams are turned on....it along with the other three lamps (for a total of four) come on...

Is there a separate fuse for the low beam that may need replacing....I have a BMW and know that this is the case for that car....

Please advise....as it appears power goes to the bulb when high beams are activated.

Thank you in advance for your help!!

Answer
The most common issue is corroded wires in the connector you attach to the bulb.
Open the back of the connector with great care.
Soldering the wires is an easy repair.
On rare occasions, the pin sleeve within the connector corrodes to dust, then you must replace the connector.
