Mercedes Benz repair: 2000 E430 Climate control malfunction, mb diesel, number search results

Question
With the temperature set for 71 (both sides) I note that the heat comes on just fine until the car has been running for awhile.  Then, the left side begins to blow much cooler air than the right.  It may correct itself after a time, but its intolerable so I have increase the setting to 80 to get warm air.  A similar thing happened this summer with the air conditioning when I noticed that after time I was getting cooler air from the left side and that it even caused a semi-circle of fog or moisture on the lower left side of the windshield.  The climate control module was replaced, but the problem continues.  Also, the fan speed may increase/decrease erratically on occasion - for no apparent reason.  Ghosts?  Help would be appreciated.

Answer
The variable air blend door response sounds like a vacuum pod leak, you need a mityvac for diagnosis.

mityvac, MB diesel owners hero.

Have the four Cabin Filters been replaced?

Fan speed increase/decrease erratic, no apparent reason:
*Sampler Blower Motor, gives temperature command signal to CCU = false signal from this sensor unit will match symptoms.
*Blower Motor, possible.
*Blower Regulator, possible.
*Blower Regulator Cable, possible.
