Mercedes Benz repair: 1981 380SL IDLE ISSUE, new distributor cap, blown fuses

Question
I own a 1981 380SL with 105K miles. I work primarily on Japanese cars and am not sad to admit that Mercedez logic is quite different. I was driving from out of town and all of a sudden, at 75 MPH, it felt like I had a cylinder dead. I pulled over on an exit ramp and the car stalled as I dropped RPM. I had to pump the gas to get it started and had to hold onto the gas as i shifted it to drive to get to a gas station. So the issue is starting, and keeping an Idle. At first, it will start (foot on gas) then slowly idle down and eventually die.
Facts about car:

New Fuel filter
New Fuel Pump(less than 10k on it)
New Distributor cap
New Spark Plugs
New Coil
New Exhaust system
New o2 Sensor
No blown fuses
No visible vacuum line leak


It feels as though the engine is either starved for gas, so i replaced the fuel filter...no go. I checked my plugs and they were all fouled ( my car is running rich) O2 sensor slightly fouled but OK. Checked vacuum lines throughout and they all seemed fine.
Another thing I have not mentioned was the fact that shifting also got chuggy when the problem occured. I havent checked my vacuum motor located on top of the engine, dunno how to go about with that. I was also wondering if there was such a thing as an EGR on this Benz but I guess Mercedez calls them "valves". I could have clogged  something.
Also, what I would call a throttle body (that round vane where air goes in, would sometimes lock into its housing (due to upward movement) and I would have to physically push it down.
Needless to say, I am in very dire need of advice, atleast a direction to move to in regards to troubleshooting, i would kindly appreciate your help on the matter...

Here is a start point:

Fuel Pump Relay.
Overload Relay.
KE Control Unit.

Note:
Wrong ignition coil can damage the KE Control Unit.
