Mercedes Benz repair: Door lock/Key stuck, fairview heights il, hair blow

Sir,
I have an 84 300turbo diesel.  I went out to unlock the door and the key is stuck in the door.  It turned to unlock it, and unlocked the door, but wont turn to the center position so I can remove the key.  How can I go about getting the key out?  Can this be accessed from the inside of the door? Thank you for any information you can provide.  Brad Doyle, Fairview Heights, IL

Answer
Remove the door panel.
Check for mechanical jamming or broken parts.
If nothing is found:
Try using a hair blow dryer to warm the lock from the inside, and hope it is only ice jamming it.

If all else fails, take it to the MB Dealer for lock service.
