Mercedes Benz repair: What engine size/ model M.B. do I have?, vin data, fri

O.k. I have recently purchased a 1979 M.B. the previous owner had all the repair paper work to it, but the model #s differ on various work orders. Some say a 350 se,some a 350sl, some a 450 sl. It does not state on the registration nor the pink slip. The beginning vin # is 116028120..... if this would be any help.

Call Phil, have your full VIN# ready.
You are trying to order oil, fuel and air filter; but do not know what vehicle or engine, because of fouled up records..
When he asks, give him the VIN#.
He has a better VIN# data base than I.
