Mercedes Benz repair: Car will not stay running, fuel pressure regulator, mb 190e

Question
I have a 92 MB 190E. The car just stop running. I replaced the fuel filter, plugs and air filter. The car started but was skipping real bad and after that it would not start again. When I take the air filter off and pour gas into the fuel system it starts up and I can drive it fine. But when I take my feet off the gas it shuts off and won't start again unless I pour more gas into the fuel system. Can you help with this problem?

Is it a 190E 2.3 or 190E 2.6 ?
