Mercedes Benz repair: diesel keeps running w/key off, throttle linkage, vacuum valve

Question
I have a 1982 mercedes 300d 5 cyl turbo. When I turn off the key the motor keeps running. I have to raise the hood and push on the stop mechanism attached to the throttle linkage. would this be an electrical problem in the ignition switch, or do i need to look elsewhere?

Answer
Answer:
The injection pump shut off = vacuum valve.
You may have disconnected the line by accident.

If the shut off valve, vacuum pump or switch unit has failed; join

you will need very clear directions and warnings to repair it without causing damage or causing the engine to run away = destroy itself.

These are all DIY repairs, safe to do with the proper precautions and preperation.
