Mercedes Benz repair: truble starting the car, battery cables, diagnostic connector

Hi i have a 1989 mercedes 190E 2.6 and i have problem to starting it i changed a starter new battery and still nothing it makes klik noise when turning the key its like trying to turn the engine but nothing.Thank you

did you buy a new starter or u used one..Are you sure you are getting spark or does it just click. Something may be wrong with your battery cables check them the go to the x11 diagnostic connector and make sure you are getting the same voltage there. After that I would check the starter and make sure you lined up the teeth
