Questionafter changing the fuel filter. the car does not start. how do i bleed the system? is there some kind of pump that i need to be awear of? and if so where is the pump located? your help will be greatly appreciated.
AnswerThere are two filters, primary = clear plastic, secondary = spin on canister.
Did you replace both filters?
Did you fill the secondary filter with diesel before installing?
Did you replace the secondary filter bolt "O" ring and seal washer with new?
Did you tighten the secondary filter bolt very tight?
Look at the primary filter, you should see a white plastic knob, unscrew it, and you will find it is the primer pump plunger.
Pump the primer until you feel resistance and hear a squeaking noise on each stroke.
Never crank the engine more than thirty seconds, rest the starter one minute after each crank.
You will need a fifty amp or heavier battery charger.
