Mercedes Benz repair: A/C comporessor shutting down, climate control system, e320 mercedes

Question
I have a 1997 e320 Mercedes.
The air conditioning pump runs for approx 2 minutes, after the car has been started, than cycles off. It no longer comes back on.
The low side of the compressor is running at 25 to 35 psi. After the compressor shuts off, the low side runs up to approx 100 psi.
If the car is turned off for 15 seconds and then restarted, the a/c pump comes on and runs for another two minutes.
Could it be low on freon, or?
Have not been able to find a high side gauge yet.

Best Regards

Randy

Answer
Pressure switches or system pressure could be one cause.
A fault in CCU is also possible.
CCU engine temperature sensor is another possible cause.

If A/C is important to you, I would take it to your local Mercedes dealer for proper diagnosis.

Climate Control is an area where you can spend thousands of dollars replacing the wrong parts, and still have the original problem.

You can limit them to Diagnosis, if you choose to DIY repair.

Have them check history for TSB and recall for your vehicle, it is possible the Climate Control system may have a TSB or recall for your vehicle, and you get it fixed for free.
