Transmission shifts very rough or lunges in lower

How many miles on the car? 169,000 Miles
What engine RPM for each gear change? 40x100 1St gear  30x100 2nd gear

Suggest you check vacuum routing.
Possible bad vacuum modulator. There is not a vacuum modulator on the parts list for this car.

Best guess:
Bad vacuum modulator or no vacuum going to modulator.
You may have difficulty with the seal ring, get five of them, lube it heavy with ATF, and be sure it is centered perfect or it will cut the seal ring.
