Mercedes Benz repair: Overheating, clutch fan, mercedes benz

Question
I have a 1990 Mercedes Benz Wagon 300TE. When in a traffic jam the temperature rises to about 90 without the AC on. When the AC is put on and the car is in a traffic jam, the temperature rises to close to 120. I have just recently changed the gasket and flushed the Radiator. I am in the temperate region in Africa and the temperature can be really high. Please what can I do?

Answer
make sure the fan is working properly. I am not sure if the fan on your vehicle is a clutch fan or electric. In either case I would check the thermostat and nake sure it is functioning properly. I also would switch to a cooler thermostat. One that is set for 160 degrees.
