MG Car Repair: 77 MG midget brake pressure switch, shuttle valve, rear brakes

Question
Howard, I read you prior advise and it helped. Now I'm wondering...what would be the issue if I simply plugged the port where the brake pressure switch goes on the shuttle valve? What does the pressure switch warn about? I ask because the switch has a channel that leaks brake fluid if the o-rings fail. Thx

Answer
Hi Oscar,

The brake warning switch just warns you that there is a different pressure on the front verses the rear brakes. There is a repair kit available from most of the on line parts suppliers and it is not expensive and only has several "O" rings in it and is easy to rebuild.
