MG Car Repair: MG B 76, float chamber, carburetor

Question
I took the hose off the canister that leads to the carb and turned on the ignition - raw fuel poured out from the carb going to the canister until I turned the ignition key off.  I guess we now know somewhat where the problem is - if you knew what kind of carb I have, I might have a clue as to where the float chamber is so I could check that part out (my guess)...did you get the pictures I sent via Outlook?  Looked like nothing was going to work the other ways...

Answer
The float is in the base of the carburetor but you should not attempt to go into the carb until you have the service manual in hand. You need the SU manual because the MG manual will not cover the HIF carburetor as it was never used on the MG here in the US.
