MG Car Repair: Fuel Pump, air leak, line connections

Clicking noise. No fuel getting through. Tank half full. left idle for 3  weeks. How do I get air out of the system?

I don't think you have air in the system.

If the pump keeps ticking but no fuel gets through, then there is a fault between the tank and the pump.  If there was a blockage after the pump, then the line would pressurize and the pump would stop ticking.  

If the pump sounds slow and strained, it is a blockage.  

If the pump sounds quite fast and continuous, then it is either an air leak, or one of the valves inside the fuel pump has developed a split and needs to be replaced.  

Try tightening the fuel line connections first, but the valves are a known weak point in the AUF300 SU fuel pump.
