MG Car Repair: clogged fuel vent system?, vent system, charcoal canister

Question
Hi Howard, sorry to keep bugging you with this.  How can I test to "see if the vent system is clogged thus not allowing air to enter the tank to replace the fuel used. This will stop any fuel from leaving the tank and act like you ran out of gas."

Thank you for your patience I am a newbie, but I learn quickly.

Answer
Hugh, run the car until it quits and then loosen the gas cap and see if it will then continue to run. If it does then the vent system is probably clogged so you need to remove the vent line of off the charcoal canister and off of the tank and blow air through the line to see if the line is clogged and then check the canister to see if it is clogged.
