MG Car Repair: brake pressure switch, differential pressure switch, teflon tape

Question
my brake pressure switch is pushing brake fluid out around the threads what do i need to do to fix

Answer
Hi Chris,
It would have helped if you told me what kind of car this is. But you did say "pressure switch" which there is no such thing on any British car that I know of. However, there is a brake "differential pressure switch" called a "PDWA" on some Triumphs and MGs of various years and models. If it is the one on the bottom of the master cylinder on some cars which is a "Pressure Failure" switch and it is still working ok and just leaking around the threads you can just remove it and use some Teflon tape on the threads or replace it. If it is the PDWA switch you need to put new seals in the PDWA valve.
