MG Car Repair: 1967MGB ROADSTER 1800, clutch master cylinders, radiator hoses

Question
bought an mgb non runner that was sitting since 84, lots of things hve been changed and is in very bad cond. I'd like to know the length of the rods that go in the clutch n brake servo (master cylinder) also how much wld a starter cost in the uk. As it does not have one. Are new spares available in the uk for this model. Also what would be the best way to get top speed from this vehicle. Thank you

Answer
HI Shabir.   I suggest that you get a copy of the Moss Motors MGB catalogue.  Inside, you will find everything needed to rebuild an MGB.  Follow this link:

The catalogue has a good section telling you how to improve the car and increase the top speed.

If this car has been sitting unused for more than 25 years, then you must replace all the rubber components, such as brake hoses and radiator hoses.  Also, I would fit new brake and clutch master cylinders.  They come complete with push rods.  Starters are not expensive, but delivery to Zimbabwe could cost a lot.

Good luck with the re-commissioning.
