MG Car Repair: clutch, clutch master cylinder, clutch pedal

i have a 79 mg midget. runs great.... the other day when i was cruising  the clutch pedal just went to the floor without resistance. i was at a stop lite and i was unable to put it in geat, the pedal just went to the floor. was running great prior to this. no warning, just happened. HELP

Sorry for the delay, Dave.  My computer had a major failure - took 10 days to fix it.  

Sounds to me that you have lost all your hydraulic fluid.  

If the clutch master cylinder is still full, then you have a master cylinder failure requiring the rubber seals to be replaced.  

If the clutch master cylinder is empty (this is more likely), then either the slave cylinder has failed or the flexible hose to the slave cylinder has failed.  Top up the master cylinder with brake fluid (DOT4 specification) and look under the car for a leak.
