MG Car Repair: turn signal, mgb roadster, left turn signal

Question
QUESTION: Whenever I have my left turn signal on and i hit my brake pedal the turn signal stays solid and doesn't flash.  I've gone through the wiring and as far as i can tell its all fine.  I've cleaned all the electrical connections.  What is your advise to fix this problem?

Dan

ANSWER: Hi Dan,
Since the turnsignal has nothing to do with the brake lights other than sharing a ground wire of the tail light assembly, that is the first place to look. If that is ok then you need to correct the wiring. Cleaning connections is good but of no use if you don't check to see that each wire does what it is suppose to do. especially grounds.
If you need a wiring diagram let me know what kind of car it is and I will post a diagram on my web site for you to copy.

QUESTION: Howard,

can you post the diagram for me? I honestly don't know where that ground is.  Thank you so much for your help, it is a 1976 mgb roadster. Boy I almost have it rocking and rolling! This is the last electrical problem left! It's kinda hard to find someone to look at British cars in Alaska!

Answer
Hi Dan,
The diagram is up on my web site at http://mg-tri-jag.net/76MGB1x1.jpg for the diagram and
http://mg-tri-jag.net/76MGB21x1.jpg for the index to the diagram.
As I remember the left tail light wires run across to the right side before heading up front and I believe the black wires (grounds) are grounded at the right rear area.
