MG Car Repair: mg midget 1500, head gasket, rocker assembly

Question
Installed a rebuilt 1500 in my 76 midget.  Oil pressure is good (40-60) but not getting any oil to rocker arms.  Removed rocker assembly and turned over with starter, no oil comes out of port in head.  Every thing is new, including oil pump, cam, lifters, (Kent) pistons, bearings etc.  Bought a good used head because of crack in old one. All holes looked exactly the same. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Mike in Ohio

Answer
Hi Mike,
If you have at least 25 to 35 PSI oil pressure spinning the engine with the starter with the rocker arm assembly off of the car and there is no oil coming out of the feed hole, the head gasket was most likely installed wrong and blocking the hole. Do not reuse the head gasket.
