MG Car Repair: restoration, wiring loom, wooden framework

Question
I am considering the purchase of a 1955 MGTF which has been fire damaged in the driver & passenger area, dash & rear of engine & gearbox. Do you think that the heat would affect the gearbox or have any effect on the body parts?
I live in Australia & have been looking on the internet at this vehicle which is in the US.

Answer
The mechanical components should be OK.

The body will be badly affected, because it consists of steel panels wrapped around a wooden framework.  You may need a complete new body tub and floorboards.  Obviously, you would need a new wiring loom.  Instruments could be damaged.  The list could be long.
