MG Car Repair: 1976 Ford F-150 dies out, ford f 150, carburetter

1976 Ford F-150. 360. Motorcraft 2 barrel carb. New coil and plug wires. Great spark. Starts and runs great sometimes. Sometimes, wether I pump the gas or not,it won't start. Then 10 seconds later it starts fine. Good idle and revs good, but then slowly dies out every time. I can see 2 jets of fuel squirting in the carb. I also siphoned all the fuel out of the tank and lines and filled with new. Help me?

If it is any help to you, it sounds to me that you have a working carburetter and a good fuel supply.  However, she starts but dies.  Seems to me that the enrichment jets (which you can see squirting) are enough to get you started, but either the idle jets or the main jets are blocked.  As I said earlier, this is not an area where I consider myself an expert, so please don't rate me on the reply!
