MG Car Repair: clutch, clutch slave cylinder, clutch pedal

Question
Howard,
Thank you for your help on other issues. Sometimes I can find my answer by reading your past posts.  I have a 72 midget.  I parked the car in my garage with no issues. In the morning, my clutch pedal went to the floor with no resistance.  I checked the fluid was full.  I can not disengage the clutch when the engine is running, but I can easily shift gears when the engine is off.  I noticed the fork arm is bent.  Is it supposed to be bent?  If so do you know the offset from the release bearing seat.  And is the lever arm supposed to bend towards the pressure plate or towards the driveshaft?  Currently mine bends towards the drive shaft.

Answer
A clutch arm will not bend itself over night so I would look at the clutch hydraulic system especially when the pedal goes to the floor. look at the rod in the clutch slave cylinder and have some one pumps the pedal. You should see the rod and clutch arm move toward the rear of the car.
