Suzuki: cutting out, american samurai, battery connections

My LIana , y reg , starts and runs fine, then it looses power and stops. The warning light on the dash of a car with a padlock comes on . If I turn it of wait , it starts ok , then it repeats again. Any idea why?

This is a little out of my area of knowledge - I only know the late 1980s American Samurai(jimny)fairly well.
It will probably be necessary for a technician to duplicate the failure to figure out what it is.
You can check the battery connections, and make certain all connections are securely plugged in all over the engine.  Aside from that, it's something a technician familiar with that model will actually have to have in front of him/her to diagnose.
