MG Car Repair: 75 Midget Carb connector, british car club, roadster factory

Question
Hi, I have a 75 MG Midget that was sitting for 3 years, long story, I did all the proper prep prior to trying to start the engine.  I started it and it idled fine, let it run for a few minutes and they applied a little gas.  At this point the throttle stuck and the only option was to turn off the engine.  Upon investigation I found a throttle cable disconnected/broken from the passenger side of the carb.  The connector looks like the end of a gas strut used for rear gates on new cars/vans only smaller.  I have a photo, if you can tell me how to upload it?  Anyway, my question is, do you know of a place where something like this can be purchased?

Thanks,
Jeff

Answer
Hi Jeff,
You need to contact the parts suppliers and ask for a catalog for your car. Most of them have good detailed drawings of each piece they have. I know Moss Motors, Victoria British and The Roadster Factory have good break down drawings in their catalogs. (Also on their web sites).  Each has a web site up and toll free numbers.

If the part is not available, you should contact your local British car club as many club members keep parts cars and keep spare parts in their garages.
