MG Car Repair: Gas pedal, throttle return spring, carburetor linkage

My gas pedal went all the way to the floor and is very loose and will not spring back.  What part do I need to get it to spring back?

You need to look at the throttle linkage to see if the throttle return spring is broken or off. Then check the throttle cable itself to see if it is either broken, or just came off of the throttle pedal or the clamp end just came loose at the carburetor linkage end.
