Military Vehicle Repair: Engine swap, fuel mileage, cucv

Van, have you ever swapped motors in a cucv? Is it pretty straight forward or is there any tricks to it? Im replacing a 6.2 for a civilian 6.2. Do you know anywhere my friend may get a good deal on a 6.2 before we go and buy a new one from GM? Also have you ever seen one with the banks turbo on it? Are there any drawbacks,besides fuel mileage to adding it to a cucv?Thanks for the help

I have swapped the engine, and nothing special about it.

I have not seen one with a turbo. I would actually expect the mileage to get better with the turbo, but the power would get a lot better.
I don't know if the increases would pay for the turbo though.
