Nissan Repair: Radiator, blown head gasket, temp gauge

Question
A few days ago I notice a leak from my radiator. I went and got it fix like three days later. When the guy but the new radiator on it keeps pushing out the coolant. He would let it cool down then put the coolant back in and it push the coolant out again. I went and got a new thermostats put on and the car still pushes out the coolant out of the radiator, also my temp gauge in my car keeps shaking. The guy told me I might have burnt out the engine or a blown head gasket. Is this ture.

Answer
Hi Brittany -

If you ran the car overheated, this is probably the case.

To be sure, wait til the engine is cold. Fill the water to the top of the radiator and leave the cap off. Crank the engine as if to start, and if you see the water gushing out of the radiator in spurts, then the head gasket is blown.

If you want to know more info about the cost and severity of this, please submit your year, make and model of your car, and the engine size.

Hope this helps -
