Military Vehicle Repair: Truck numbers, battery isolator, fuse block

Question
Van, when you guys refer to 1008 and 1110 and 1009 and all the other numbers how do I know which I have? Since Ive written last my truck has ran great. I did burn out the toggle switch I hooked up to run the glow plugs. That was an easy fix compared to what Ive been through. Do you have any experience with the horn relay in the steering wheel? Mine quit working and in PA you need it for inspection. I was going to hook up a button, unless it may be an easy fix. As always thank you.

Answer
A 1008 is just a plain looking pickup.
A 1009 is a Blazer.
A 1010 is just about like a 1008, except it is an ambulance, or some special type truck, and has different charging system, with a blue box on the drivers side, under the hood, behind the left headlight. that is the battery isolator and voltage regulator.

The horn relay is not in the steering wheel. I believe it is in the fuse block.

You need to wire that toggle switch to operate a relay for the glow plugs.
