Military Vehicle Repair: tires, lift, extended shackles, ft sill

Hi,
I have an '83 Military blazer; 6.2L 4X4.
Want to put on some large tires for looks mostly. This is not a street driver. I purchased from Ft. Sill, OK and recently bought some 36X12.50X16.5 tires (guess where they came from). How much lift will I need to put under this Blzr? It is pretty high alreday. I live in TX and the Blzr is at my place in OK. So I can't run out there and try them. Want to try some lift blocks and extended shackles/ Any comments please?

Sounds almost like Hummer tires.
Lift will depend on how much you care if they rub a little when you are four wheelin.
Lift will only help on the fenders....still gonna rub on the frame, but it will get over some rough ground.
