The TCU for most Mitsubishi's is located behind the stereo dash area towards the front of the engine control ECM usually, closer to the firewall. The TCU is set differently in that it is laying flat or horizontal as apposed to the ECM, which is normally vertical and upside-down.

There are several places that offer repairs or replacements.  Pricing can vary widely; between $600-$1500.  Find a few places and get estimates.
