Mitsubishi Repair: 1998 Eagle talon--coil hot, no fire, no fuel, air fuel ratio, eagle talon

Question
We removed the engine from my sons car to clean up the engine bay.The engine is the 2 litre turbo and was working fine pror to removing it.We did not touch the engine timing, cam angle sensor, belts. We replaced the fuel injectors and fuel pump for higher volume. We cleaned the engine bay, re-wrapped the wiring harness to clean it up and reinstalled the engine. NOW the engine gets no fuel and no fire when rolled over? The coil gets hot when the engine is turned over? Also, when the igntion switch is turned on and then off and the key is removed, the dash lights remain on? We would appreciate any help / advice that you can offer from your experiences with this issue.

Answer
Robin,
The car's computer controls the spark and fuel supply (outside of a bad fuse or relay).  With the introduction of a new fuel high-volume fuel pump, your car's computer may not be able to proper regulate the new higher level of fuel entering the engine.  Said another way, if the the computer cannot regulate a proper air/fuel ratio, the computer will respond by not allowing the car to run.

But in removing the engine, there are lots of things that could come loose or become damaged.  So checking all wires, hose connections, fuses, relays, and connection points is critical to ensure everything is properly seated.  Else, you may have to get a mechanic to take a closer inspection.
Good luck!
