Mitsubishi Repair: 2002 Galant GTZ auto - clicking under dashboard, fuse box, auto parts stores

Question
I have a clicking under the dash that occurs when the key is on or car is running.  I was able to stop it by removing the relay fuse (#16 on the interior fuse box).  I am on vacation, can I operate the car for a couple days without damaging it?  What does this relay do and how can I fix it?
Thanks,
~Curtis

Answer
Curtis,
If the car starts and runs properly without the fuse, then you should be alright to continue driving it without damage.  Most auto parts stores should be able to sell you a compatible relay as a replacement.  Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with the relay layout on your Galant, so I cannot tell you exactly what that relay operates.  But if the car runs fine, then the relay may just control an internal motor; like the power windows or blower motor.  It may even be for the defogger.
Good luck!
