Mitsubishi Repair: Eclipse GS-T wont start., mitsubishi eclipse, eclipse gs

Question
Hey i was wondering what i could do to fix my 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse 2.0L MFI Turbo DOHC 4cyl. It's a manual Transmission and inside my gauges are normal but my battery light and the oil light comes on. When i turn the key over it sounds like a zing/whirring sound. I had checked every fluids and everything was fine and then tried to jump start the car and it still wouldn't work. I don't know what else but i hope it's something easier like the starter.

Answer
Robert,
It's possible your battery is dead, and just won't hold a charge, or least enough to start the car.  If battery is charged, but you cannot hear your starter motor engaging, then it may be your starter that needs to be replaced.  Though is the car tries hard to start, but never quite catches, then it may be an ignition problem, which may involve replacing the spark plugs and/or plug wires.  If that fails to fix it, you should have your ignition coil pack tested, along with the ignition timing and cam angle sensor.
Good luck!
