Mitsubishi Repair: delayed acceleration and noisier engine..., throttle position sensor, engine roar

Question
I have this problem happening on my car.

Every time I shift to the next gear.. (after releasing the clutch) and i give gas.. there is a slight "delay" before the acceleration kicks in.

Its as if at that point of time the "increase" in engine power only makes sound (roars) and the acceleration push actually takes some time to kick in.

What would you attribute this...to ?

Shift-Clutch Release, Gas Pedal, Slight Engine Roar (its not that loud but.. it kind of revs up)... Delay... Acceleration kicks in.

(happens for all 2nd, 3rd & 4th shifts - even if I have accelerated to a speed /rpm that is above the required speed/rpm for a GEAR shift).

What part might be causing this ?

I just bough the car and did not notice this before. From my guess (well i might be wrong) this started happening after the Oil Change (& a requested Air Filter change that they said did not need to be changed.. and did not change )

Kindly advise ?

Answer
Abhi,
This problem could be contributed to either slipping clutch plate, mis-adjusted throttle position sensor, or even too much slack throttle cable.

If you feel something happened during the oil change, take your car somewhere else to get the oil you want in it.  If you  want a new air filter, it's pretty easy to install yourself.

If you feel something is definitely wrong and it's really bothering you, take your car to a mechanic to have it checked out.
Good luck!
