Mitsubishi Repair: 1998 Magna keeps stalling after jump start, tj magna, professional mechanic

Question
G'day,
I had trouble with the battery in my 1998 TJ Magna a while ago, my mate was helping me and before i knew it he had grabbed his JUMP STARTER PACK and attached it to the battery. The car started okay but now keeps stalling, so i replaced the battery and it did help with the starting issues, but won't idle. It was a hot day that day, so i had the air-con switched ON, now if i turn the a/c OFF the car stalls everytime instead of idling. When i turn the a/c ON the car won't stall as often but does from time to time. I have asked other people and they seem to think that it could be a mapping issue due to the jump starting.
I have read alot of your answers to other similar questions but none of which have helped, and i have tried everything!!!
Is this something that can be fixed by inputing a code and how do you input a code, is it with the key pad?
Do you have any ideas or even a cure?
Cheers Darren

Answer
Darren,
I'm a bit puzzled as to what you mean by "inputting a code".  I do not think there is any way to input or program any of the computers on your vehicle.  And unless the car was jump started improperly, I doubt any damage was caused.

If you haven't already, you should probably investigate the following items and replace if necessary:
Inspect the alternator (it may not be putting our sufficient power to keep the car running)
Check the ignition components (spark plugs, wires, ignition coils (distributor, cap, rotor if equipped)
Replace air filter
Replace fuel filter
Inspect fuel pump (may be worn and not putting our enough fuel)
Inspect air intake components (throttle body, EGR valve, PCV valve, etc)
Check ignition timing (make sure the engine is timed appropriately)

For any of the items that you are unable to check yourself, have a professional mechanic take a look.
Good luck!
