Mitsubishi Repair: 2003 Eclipse Air Conditioning, radiator cap, efficency

Question
A/C blows cold air until engine warms up, then blows warm air. Refrigerant pressure is at 43-45. While driving, if I turn the A/C off for 10 min or so, it will cool again for just a few minutes when I turn it back on. Thank you for any advice you could provide. Signed, Hot in Florida.

Answer
Hey Terry: I would check the water pump, it's belts and the thermostat but also the radiator cap, as it must be good to let the pressure build up as it should and then the water must be raised to boiling point and that increases the cooling efficency in the radiator.I would have the evaporator check as well as the compressor. Could be your pressure relief relief valve is not working right.  How about how is your antifreeze I know a lot of people believe they don't need any antifreeze in the summer just in the winter. But if you are going to try to run air conditioner you need a good mix of antifreeze in your car too. Well this will give you some ideas what to check, I can only give ideas. I do hope we get you cooled down in Florida. Heard it can get very hot in that state. Hope this helps some and good luck! Linda
