Mitsubishi Repair: 2000 Eclipse GT - no sound from speakers, eclipse gt, stereo shop

Question
Thank you for being here to hopefully help with this issue.  Recently about a 1/2 a gallon of water spilled onto the passenger side floorboard and under the passenger seat.  Now I have no sound from my speakers. My stereo appears to be working (CD spins etc).  Is there a fuse or fusible link that could have blown (fingers crossed lol).  If so, where is it located?  If not, maybe the amp blew?  If so where is that located?  Thanks for your help.

Answer
Sue,
There's no fuse I'm aware of for the speakers themselves.  They are powered directly from the stereo unit. You'll need to inspect the speakers themselves, and even the stereo deck as well.  You may have just shorted out the connection between the speaker wires and blown the speaker itself.  If you want to available a mechanic for this, you may be able to have a local stereo shop check your speakers and radio for you.  If your stereo unit is blown, a stereo shop (or a place like Best Buy) would be able to get you a new unit at a very good price.
Good luck!
