Mitsubishi Repair: dash lights and tail lights went out, mitsubishi 3000gt, lighting circuit

1993 mitsubishi 3000GT base model automatic.my dash lights meaning the illuminating lights for when i drive at night went out just stopped working same with the lights for telling me what gear im in.lets just say all the back lighting went out. all the fuse i can see are good. but at the same time those went out my tail lights went out and when we changed the fuse it blew ever time. so if you can

It sounds as if there is a short circuit somewhere in the lighting circuit.  The switch that controls the headlights to turn on and off, also controls the dash lights.  If there is a short in that switch, it will cause your tail lights to blow, and in turn can cause your dash lights to go out as well.  The best option would be to trace the lighting circuit at the steering column switch and find the short and fix it.  It may just be a bad wire.
