Mitsubishi Repair: 2002 mitsu galant ac problem, ac repair, fan works

I have a problem with the ac in a galant.  It is fully
charged, but will only turn the compressor on at the 1st fan
speed.  It does not blow out any cool air until you turn the
fan to the next speed.  on the next speed, the ac light
turns off and the cool air will only come out for a minute
or so.  so to recap, the ac light and compressor will only
turn on at the lowest fan speed, but no air comes out.  on
the other settings, the fan works but the ac or compressor
will not come on.  thanks for your help.

This may be a direct problem with your compressor itself.  There may be a bad bearing or a bad relay that controls the compressor.  If you are unable to track down the issue yourself, I'd recommend you have a mechanic with experience in AC repair have a look.
