Mitsubishi Repair: Transmission, linkage problem, eclipse gt

Question
I have a 2003 eclipse gt the problem is that when u put it in drive it won't move u can give it gas and it will rev up but that's it and the same way when u have it in reverse! What could be the problem!

Answer
Michael,
If you have an automatic transmission, this can be caused by lack of fluid or a worn torque converter.  It's also possible the sifter linkage could be off and not moving it into gear (leaving it in neutral).  If you have a manual transmission, this could again be a cable linkage problem or bad clutch.  A transmission shop should inspect your car for a thorough diagnosis.
Good luck!
