Mitsubishi Repair: 95 eclipse gst, change good luck, crank shaft

Question
Our local high school did a complete gasket set change for us at parts cost only...  Got the car back and it died out while driving, Discovered the altenator wasn't tightened properly... Tightened the altenator car started right up... Car was over heating, changed the coolant replaced the thermostat and blew a hose... replaced the hose... Car was running great.  Car sits for about 3months undriven (winter)... go to drive it, the idle keeps climbing when I stop, reving the engine a little seems to correct this issue, figured it was probably just sticky from sitting for 3 months and that it will "fix" it's self.  Driving along, idle starts to climb, rev engine, car dies and coasts to stop.  The car will sit there and crank continuesly but won't start.  Fule is getting to the fuel rail and through it as well.  Just replaced the TPS and still no start.  Not worse but not better... still the same.  The crank shaft sensor is next on my list... any other ideas or suggestions...

Answer
Tony,
Check to see if you have a spark on all cylinders.  You may also want to test your idle speed controller.  Checking the crank shaft sensor, along with the ignition timing, is a good idea.  Check your throttle cable (and cruise control cable) to make sure it's not hung up on anything.  I'd recommend you check your compression to see if head bolts have loosened.  Sometimes they need re-torquing after a gasket change.
Good luck!
