Mitsubishi Repair: 95 GALANT, speed controller, stepper motor

Question
I JUST BOUGHT A 95 GALANT AND WHEN THE CAR WARMS UP THE IDLE STARTS TO GO UP AND DOWN WHEN ITS IN PARK OR NUETRAL I HAVENT NOTICE IF IT DO IT IN DRIVE.CAN U HELP

Answer
Clarence,
What you described sounds like a symptom of idle surge.  Idle surge can be caused by a faulty idle speed controller (ISC).  This is a stepper motor attached to the throttle body that regulates the idle speed and is controlled by the car's computer when the engine reaches normal operating temperature.  When the ISC malfunctions, it cannot control the idle and the computer continuously tries to hunt for the proper idle and this causes the up and down.  Have the ISC inspected and replaced if necessary.
Good luck!
