Mitsubishi Repair: Mitsubishi 5 speed linkage, shift levers, shift forks

It wouldn't go into reverse I think it might be a linkage adjustment. How can I tell and what is the best procedure to adjust it?

This can be caused by a damaged shift fork.  The best would be to have a mechanic inspect the shift levers on the transmission itself.  You can also remove the shifter knob and check the cable connections at the shifter.  If all connection appear secure and tight, you'll want to bring your car to a mechanic to inspect the shift forks.
