Mitsubishi Repair: 93 3000gt intermediate stall problem, intermittent problems, mitsubishis

Question
my buddy has a 93 3000 gt non turbo automatic.
sometimes you start the car, and start to drive. and it will stall within the first 3 to 4 min. and you have to fight like hell to get it to restart. other days it will start and run fine for 3 to 5 days with no issues at all. then out of the blue for no reason it will stall again. every time it stops running its within a couple of min starting. this is completly at random.
also the check eng light will not come, so i cant diagnos it for him.

please let me know if u have any ideas. thanks.

Answer
Jeff,
Most intermittent problems are caused by something electrical.  This problem could indicate a faulty ECU (your car's computer).  This is a problem for many older Mitsubishis.  You can get more about information on that here:

If the ECU is faulty, you can experiencing stalling and starting issues.  Have your car looked over by a mechanic and have them inspect your ECU to determine if there is any damage.
Good luck!
